Custom Machine Guarding

Machine Guarding mounted on a wood lathe in a technical classroom within a secondary school. This guard will provide the required protection to prevent the work pieces from being thrown out of the machines if they become loose. Guards are preferable to other control methods because they are safe, physical barriers that enclose dangerous machine parts and prevent employee contact with them.
The guards extend over the top of the lathes and the flat, rectangular front panels offer a view of the work area with little or no distortion. This custom designed guard was made for an existing piece of equipment. Hinges hold the front panels in any position, yet allow them to be raised free and clear of the work area with a reasonable amount of effort. Machine safeguarding equipment should be designed and installed only by technically qualified professionals.

HATCHGUARD INSTALLATION

This challenging HatchGuard installation exceeded the customers expectations and addressed serious safety concerns at the school. The hatch opening was very close to the leading edge, with the HatchGuard system, we were able to provide immediate fall protection upon roof entry.
